On-Campus Student Employment
At SF State, campus employment is more than a paycheck. Imagine working alongside accomplished professors and professional staff as you work to prepare yourself for life after graduation. Campus position gives you an opportunity to meet people and create connections. When you prove yourself, your supervisor or director may be more inclined to give you recommendations for other opportunities or connect you with future employers.
Federal Work-study
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study.
Student Tool Kit
Recruiting, interviewing, and selecting student worker positions (part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible) is a completely separate process from hiring full-time and part-time benefits-eligible employees, and hourly nonstudent employees administered through Human Resources system.
International Student Employment
F-1 and J-1 students are eligible to seek employment under limited circumstances. Students may not begin any employment prior to receiving work authorization.
