Jeannette Peralta currently serves as the Associate Vice President (Interim) of Human Resources & Director of Talent Management & Compensation Solutions & Operations. She is a first generation, native San Franciscan who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University, and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management/Organizational Behavior from Golden Gate University. With 29 years of Human Resources experience, she is well versed in all aspects of the discipline and has worked for both small and large companies in retail, financial institutions, auxiliary, non-profit and for-profit organizations. Prior to coming to SF State’s HR Department, she was the Human Resources Manager for the Cesar Chavez Student Center.
Having been the first in her tri-lingual household to graduate college, Jeannette is well aware of the challenges many students face in achieving success and recognizes the role of the University in forming future generations. She is committed to SF State’s mission and has worked with ASI’s Project Connect in order to empower and educate visiting high school students on reaching their own career goals. Additionally, one of Jeannette’s intentions was to bring conscious leadership awareness to the campus and has been successful in this by presenting at SF State’s Women’s Leadership Conference, Employee University, and other departments.
Jeannette leads a holistic lifestyle, and her commitment to staying grounded, present, and mindful of the greater good led her to complete a Ph.D. in Metaphysical Science with an emphasis in Transpersonal Counseling. She keeps a balance of the mind, body and spirit, so that she may be fully present both professionally and personally. In her current role, she continues to empower, encourage, and educate with fun, laughter and humor.
